The 26-year-old Algerian striker leaves our club after two seasons. Benbouali initially joined us on loan in the summer of 2024 while recovering from a serious injury, but he soon established himself as a key player in our newly promoted side.

He posted impressive numbers in his first season on the banks of the Rába, but the 2025/26 campaign proved to be his true breakthrough year.

Following the end of his loan spell, we completed his permanent signing in the summer of 2025. The season then unfolded exactly as we had hoped when we brought him in — and even exceeded those expectations.

He also played his part in our UEFA Conference League run, making his mark on the European stage with two goals. His form continued to gather momentum in the league, with the “Nadhir machine” hitting top gear as the season progressed. He finished the Fizz Liga campaign with 15 goals and six assists, becoming one of the key figures in our title-winning season.

His goals and assists did not go unnoticed by the Algerian national team either. With Algeria preparing for the World Cup, Benbouali received his first senior international call-up in March 2026 and went on to score in a warm-up match against Guatemala.

His performances at club level also earned him a place in Algeria’s World Cup squad. At the tournament, he wrote another chapter in both his own career and ETO’s history, coming off the bench to score against Jordan.

Benbouali will now continue his career in Egypt with Pyramids FC, who finished as runners-up in the Egyptian league last season. The Egyptian club have activated a deal to sign the striker for another club-record transfer fee.

Best of luck, Nadhir! Thank you for everything!
